A regional conference with the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” was organized in Baghdad on 8th March 2022 promoting women’s role in media and the challenges facing female media professionals in the Arab region. “Ana Al Iraqiya” song was also launched during the event which was produced jointly by UNWomen and IWJF and a bazaar was organized displaying paintings and handicrafts designed by women. This event was done in partnership with the Department of Women Empowerment and IWJF. Attendees included women from ministries and governmental institutions, women activists and journalists from the civil society representing Iraq, Egypt, Palestine, and Tunis as well as participants from the international community from Sweden, Germany, Canada, Finland, NATO and UN Agencies
