Egypt Women on Boards Observatory: 2019 Annual Monitoring Report

Image

UN Women is committed to contribute to the enhancement of women economic empowerment efforts in-line with Egypt’s National Women Strategy. As part of this commitment and as a member and partner of the “Women on Boards Observatory”, UN Women collaborated with the School of Business of the American University in Cairo (AUC) and all the members of the Observatory in the production of the 2019 “Women on Boards Monitoring Report”. The report serves as a monitoring and tracking tool, measuring the representation of women on the boards of companies and banks in Egypt.

UN Women’s engagement in this collaboration is part of its joint programme with the International Labour Organization (ILO) “Promoting Productive Employment and Decent Work for Women in Egypt, Jordan and Palestine” that is being funded by the Swedish International Development Agency. This programme aims to promote productive employment and decent work for women in Egypt by promoting equitable laws and policies, engaging public, private and community actors, and reducing the uneven burden of unpaid care work.
