Arab parliamentarians dialogue on the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years

Date: 29-30 MAY 2024 

As part of the regional preparations to review progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action thirty years after its adoption (Beijing +30) in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women, ESCWA is partnering with the UN-Women Regional Office for Arab States and the League of Arab States to conduct a regional dialogue for Arab parliamentarians. 

The dialogue is aimed at discussing progress made in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in the Arab region, highlighting the role of parliaments in advancing the implementation process through legislative reform, and exchanging experience, best practices and lessons learned. 

The dialogue is expected to conclude with an outcome document to be presented to the high-level meeting on Beijing+30 in December 2024.
