Upon arriving in the refugee camp, she was shocked by the misery and hardships refugees around her were facing. Instead of sinking into despair, she decided to volunteer with a local NGO to help out. She was then quickly promoted to the position of Protection Supervisor. Her great efforts to help other refugee women stand on their own feet are supported by the European Union (EU) and UN Women through the regional programme “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and Host Communities in Iraq, Jordan and Turkey.” This programme is largely funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis “the EU Madad Fund”.
