This will help create a more enabling environment for women as candidates and voters. The capacity of women leaders is strengthened—at the parliamentary level, to campaign effectively and build constituencies, and at the municipal level, to design, advocate for, and implement gender-responsive community initiatives. The visibility and credibility of women candidates are amplified through strategic skillbuilding, voter education and engagement, and advocacy to raise awareness of key measures and procedures that affect women’s political participation and leadership. All interventions should be contributing to inclusive governance, gender equality in political decision-making, and the removal of structural barriers to women's participation.
