Events and Activities in Commemoration of UNSCR 1325 — 25th Anniversary
Event description
As we mark 25 years since the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, the Arab States region joins global efforts to reaffirm women’s leadership in building peace, advancing security, and shaping recovery in times of crisis.
Throughout September, October, and November 2025, UN Women—together with governments, civil society partners, and regional institutions—will organize a series of high-level events, dialogues, campaigns, and creative initiatives that celebrate women’s contributions to peacebuilding and call for renewed commitment to the WPS agenda.
From the launch of Egypt’s first National Action Plan and regional consultations in Libya, to youth dialogues in Lebanon, storytelling from Gaza and Syria, and regional side events at the UN Security Council Open Debate in New York, each activity highlights the collective momentum across the Arab States to translate Resolution 1325 into lasting action and impact.
