Infographic: Women’s Empowerment in Humanitarian Action in the Arab States | 2025 Impact
Across the Arab States, women and girls are disproportionately affected by conflict, displacement, and economic instability. In 2025, UN Women’s humanitarian programming reached 629,000 people across seven countries, strengthening women’s protection, economic empowerment, and resilience.
Through integrated programmes, women gained greater control over their economic decisions, with 78.5% reporting increased financial agency and 45.9% acquiring skills for sustainable livelihoods. Initiatives linking women to markets, vocational training, and financial services helped expand opportunities for economic participation.
Protection services remained a core priority. 141,000 women accessed psychosocial support, legal assistance, and protection services, contributing to improved awareness of rights and access to justice. As a result, 95.2% of women reported understanding their legal rights, and 96% said they felt safer and more protected.
UN Women also supported emergency relief efforts in Gaza and Lebanon, working with women-led organizations to deliver life-saving assistance to more than 400,000 people, including food support, cash assistance, protection services, and essential dignity supplies.
These results demonstrate that investing in women’s leadership, protection, and economic opportunities is essential to strengthen recovery and resilience in crisis-affected communities.
