Date:
The call for applications for the Global Award for Women’s Empowerment opened on 1 April 2018 and will run through 31 August 2018 (GMT+3), under the “Apply now” section on the www.womenglobalaward.org/en.
In 2017 UN Women and the Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain announced the Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment. The award, to be presented every three years, recognizes individuals, organisations, companies and states who are doing exceptional work for women’s empowerment in their communities, across four categories. Each award is valued at USD $100,000.
The award will highlight innovative initiatives that bring about sustainable transformation for women's empowerment within their communities.
In March 2018, the international jury members who will assess the shortlisted candidates in each of the four categories were published. Read more about the jury members here.
UN Women encourages anyone working to make lasting change in their community, enterprise, country or region to apply. In particular, youth are encouraged to apply to showcase their new and innovative approaches in addressing inequalities. Shortlisted candidates and initiatives will be featured on the website, with an aim to share best practices, success stories and achievements with the global community.
If you are doing great work to help achieve gender equality, then apply now for Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment!
